British native Robbie Proctor joined Phoenix as an editor in 2000. Armed with a diverse portfolio of TV spot and feature film work, he immediately made himself indispensable as a cutter with a unique sense of humor and storytelling style.

Also part-time DJ with the Bay Area music collective Hot Box, Proctor leverages an innate sense of rhythm and pace to his work, which includes campaigns for Gap, Mervyn’s, Levi's, Sega, Napster, Yahoo!, HBO, Oracle and Amnesty International, among others. He has also edited music videos for Sunburn Records artists “Hawke” and “The Infinite Posse” and numerous shorts and trailers.

Proctor’s feature-length film credits include “Long Cut” (2002), “Confessions of a Burning Man” (2003), and “Happily Even After” (2004), which was an Official Selection at the 2004 Tribeca Film Festival.

“When I work on a feature I have the time and creative license to explore interesting approaches to the film,” says Robbie. “Often an opportunity will present itself to apply what I’ve learned from that, to a spot.” In addition, he says his experience working with actors in features has helped him with the nuances of cutting performance in spots. “Ultimately what I love is piecing together a compelling story that will connect with people.”

Proctor studied film at Northbrook College of Design & Technology in Worthing, England.
